Central Texas Electric Cooperative is different from your standard electric company. Electric cooperatives are owned by the people they serve which means local members help shape the direction of the co-op by voting for the board of directors and participating in the cooperative process. CTEC provides electric service in the following counties: Gillespie, Llano, Mason, Kimble, San Saba, Blanco, Kendall, Kerr, Real, Menard and McCulloch.
Margins are reinvested back into the system to maintain infrastructure, improve reliability, and keep rates as affordable as possible. One special approach Central Texas Electric Co-op launched in January of this year is their Levilized Billing Program! Levilized billing evens out monthly electric bills. |

Instead of large swings during the hottest and coldest months, legalized billing spreads your higher-usage periods across the year, making budgeting a little easier and your utility bills a lot more predictable. It uses a rolling average of previous bills so that your monthly amounts due are around the same each month. This program is available to ALL CTEC residents with accounts in good standing and signing up is easy. You can enroll via your SmartHub app OR contact their office at 1-800-900-2832!

CTEC is consistently giving back to the community. One critical way is through internships. Currently, they are offering internships in Electrical Engineering, Information Technology, Operations and Mechanic Intern. For more information and to apply, please go to their website.
Another incredible way CTEC gives back to the community is through Operation Round-up. Operation Round-up is a two-tiered program that allows CTEC members to make a difference in their community by rounding up their electric bill to the next highest dollars. Those extra cents are added to the Operation Round-up fund. Members can also make a one-time donation and all contributions are tax-deductible. Individuals, families and organizations can then apply for a grant. Grants are awarded to organizations and families or individuals in our community and each grant recipient is vetted by the Operations Round-up Board of Directors. This ensures the funds are used to make the community better and to keep the funds local. Congratulations to CTEC and our own Tow Volunteer Fire Department for your Operation Round-up grant! For more information check out this amazing article on CTEC’s website and learn more about CTEC, Operation Round-up and Tow VFD. |
